The folks at Automattic rolled out an upgrade this week to the video quality of videos hosted on WordPress.com blogs using their VideoPress service. Big news on the MySQL front. While many had predicted MySQL would have an IPO in 2008, but it was announced today that Sun will acquire them for approximately one billion: 800 million in cash and 200 million in options. Often, when a site allows users to add and update content, you run into concurrency issues. We recently ran into a problem where double clickers were causing two transactions to fire.
