From 'View Source' to Open Source

The "view-source culture" is part of what enabled web design and development techniques and skills to spread so widely so rapidly. Now, rather than simply viewing source, web designers and developers have come to rely on open source projects and frameworks. While it might seem a minor difference, open source reflects a new professionalism and maturity for web design and development as a discipline.
