On many current travel sites, videos are often just a small add-on, hoping to inspire the undecided internet surfer to make a booking.
Online travel company Vacations Canada TV, as the name suggests, uses video as a central focus on the website:
“Clips of exciting travel activities from mountain climbing to antique shopping are included on the site, with new episodes added each month.
Visitors can also rate and comment in the individual Canadian vacation clips, providing others with valuable insight into the many possibilities and features of vacations to Canada.”
Directly next to the videos (“Discover the Canadian Rockies“) interested viewers can find the matching travel packages (“The Great Outdoors“).
Site operator Brewster then lists underneath the video player other clips which act as teasers for similar travel offers (“Featured Vacation Videos“).
