Since the last year, the online private shopping club boom has made an impact in the US – to the extent that three of the top American shopping clubs are targeting revenues of over $100 million:

Somewhat behind in the game is Ideeli, who, after scooping up $10 million worth of business in 2008, have targeted for 2009 over $50 million.

To compare against Europe: The French Vente-Privee should be able to raise their revenues this year to the 700 million euro mark. German Brands4Friends and BuyVIP target 85 million euro and 70 million euro respectively.

The market for shopping clubs will be highlighted by Exciting Commerce at the Live Shopping Days 2010 conference (in German). In attendance will be, amongst others, Brands4Friends as well as the Russian KupiVIP.
