MMS on the iPhone screencast – what it could look like

By Optaros on 19 Mar 2009

A lot of interesting and promising features for the iPhone 3.0 OS were presented on March 17.  One of them is the planned MMS support.  As always, the news release from Apple was speculated upon in a number of blogs and articles.  iPhone as broadband modem for your laptop, MMS in general and for AT&T, the long awaited Apple Notification Service, etc.

So what could the future iPhone MMS look like?  At Optaros we’ve had a number of discussions with clients on how to leverage the usability and interactivity of the iPhone for different solutions.  One example is the iPhone MMS prototype that we recently developed at Optaros.  Have a look at the demo screencast to get an idea of an intuitive MMS application that is leveraging the strengths of the iPhone to drive more use, and more advanced use, of the MMS service.  Clearly a major step forward from what you get on MMS-enabled devices today.  And needless to say it would also help drive additional revenue for the operators.  Will be interesting to see what the MMS app on the iPhone will look like and behave…

We like the iPhone for a number of different reasons.  The prime reason though is that it’s actually starting to deliver on the multi-channel promise.  Optaros has strong experience and background in building rich internet applications.  And with the iPhone there is a platform on which we can leverage our experiences in usability and interactivity to build superior applications for our clients – and their demanding user communities – thus helping our clients address the multi-channel challenge in an interactive and user-centric way.  We’ve already implemented a number of iPhone solutions for our clients.  GPSies GPS Track Logger is a great example thereof, soon available on AppStore.
