I trust all of you are making plans for a fun weekend. Especially my friends in the United States, who are celebrating Labor Day and are able to enjoy that last long weekend of summer. As you know, I have been creating my ecommerce blog around the top articles found in the blogosphere on the trends and statistics around ecommerce. I hope you enjoy this week’s ecommerce blogroll that includes tips for successful site-to-store service for the multichannel retailer, powerful results from a recent study on effects of PPC to the brick-and-mortar, and a review of the new Crocs site. Enjoy!
PPC and Spillover to Retail Stores [Shop.Org Blog]
The Shop.Org blog offers the meaty results from the study conducted by Rimm-Kaufman Group on the spillover of PPC to retail stores. Does the proximity to a brick-and-mortar store have a higher or lower impact on the value of PPC traffic? Well, it looks like it does. Read the details of the study within this blog post – but make sure to have a LARGE cup of coffee while you comb through it. It is filled with great insight and data to back up all of their findings.
In -Store Pickup Tips for Multichannel Retailers [Get Elastic Blog]
As helpful as this blog is, it really frightened me to read the first line “With the holiday shopping officially underway”. Zoinks! I need to get moving on my shopping. But, the point of this article is not about getting my shopping into high gear instead it offers some valuable tips to the multichannel retailer in offering their customer an excellent experience both online and offline. Read it and enjoy the excellent review of the usability features and branding by Wal-mart for their Site-to-Store service.
Ecommerce Review: Crocs. The New Site on the Block [Optaros Ecommerce Blog]
With the new launch of Crocs.com, Adam Michelson has taken his expertise in ecommerce and offers some constructive criticism on what he believes works and does not work on this site. With many retailers embracing social shopping, it is curious that Crocs.com did not use this as noted by Adam. What do you agree with, what do you see that Crocs could do better and what do you think their site offers that is a best practice in ecommerce?
Enjoy the blogs and have a wonderful weekend everyone!
