Here is a snapshot of my favorite ecommerce blogs from this past week. I look forward to your comments and hope these links prove informative and useful.

Research: Q3 online sales flash survey results [Shop.Org Blog]
So, any of you wondering how the ecommerce industry is doing these days and looking for some stats to give you a little glimmer of hope this season. Here is a link to research from a Q3 survey conducted recently by Forrester Research and Shop.Org that should offer you a pulse for the current state of the market. One nice number that I read was the average growth for gross online sales in Q3 09 compared to Q43 08 was 16%. Nice, way to go ecommerce rock stars. Let’s keep those numbers climbing.

RetailMeNot.com survey says 30% of online adults will not make a purchase online store if they can’t find a coupon for that store [Michael S. Levy Blog]
A friend of mine at work introduced me to the financial benefits of searching for a coupon online. Now, I wouldn’t dream of making a purchase without a coupon code. For example, I just recently saved $10 on a dog crate from a pet retailer and can now use that money for the coffee that is fueling this blog. But, I digress. Read Michael’s post, and glean insight from this survey in addition to the obvious learning – that coupons drive more purchases.

Magento Connect Extensions for Facebook Integration [Magento Blog]
Facebook Connect Social Shopping is a new extension by Optaros which recently went live. This blog post connects you to a screencast showing how this extension allows your customer to ask friends in Facebook for feedback on items before they make a purchase decision. Enjoy the video and please leave a comment on the Magento blog.

Keep shopping online,

Noreen
