It’s time for the weekly blogroll! Here’s a look at my favorite ecommerce blog posts from this week. I’ve covered concepts such as social / community, store locators, blogs, and a link to a blog on the results from a recent survey of online shoppers that looks at what triggers drive their purchase behavior.
1. Adding Community for Maximum Return [Optaros Ecommerce Blog]
This video interview with Adam Michelson, is a must for any retailer looking to understand how they can add community to their current ecommerce site.
2. Price is important online. But not as important as reputation. [Econsultancy Blog]
For online retailers reputation trumps price. This Econsultancy blog reviews the results from a survey conducted by Webcredible. Review the stats and then review your online strategy and see how you measure up in terms of trust, experience, and reliability.
3. Your Boss Doesn’t Care About ‘The Conversation’ [Mack Collier Blog]
Is your brand having a conversation with your customers? What is your blogging strategy? Retailers who are looking to “have a conversation” with their customers may want to read this blog post first. Mack Collier, blog and social media consultant, is your blog Sherpa and offers some practical suggestions on how to relate your blog to your key business goals in order to gain buy-in from management.
4. If We’re So Smart About Multi-Channel Retail, Why are Some Store Locators So Dumb [Ecommerce Consulting Blog]
Though this blog post is from earlier this month, I thought it was worthy of mention. Sally McKenzie, a retail and online industry veteran, takes a look at how multi-channel retailers can leverage their online store locators as an opportunity to create excitement and drive sales. Make sure to read Sally’s review of store locators from some well known mulit-channel retailers including REI, Apple, Best Buy and Nike and her take on what retailers can learn from these examples.
Send me ideas for next week’s blogroll on Twitter @vnoreen. I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
